In support of health and human services, Sony commits to many of the health needs of the industries that the company is part of and the communities where they conduct business.
Sony supports hospitals, clinics, medical research groups, and other health-related organizations with grants and product donations. The multinational electronics company also match employee donations to educational, medical and cultural institutions as well as encourage employees to volunteer their time with these groups.
Through its affiliation with the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. provides support for a variety of health related programs such as the annual Revlon Run Walk for Women's Cancers.
Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. has also been a long time supporter of the AIDS Walk Los Angeles and has provided support for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Motion Picture & Television Fund, The Midnight Mission, Painted Turtle Camp, the Los Angeles Free Clinic, Homeless Healthcare of Los Angeles, St. Johns Health Center and Variety-The Children's Charity.
Sony Electronics Inc.'s facilities in Northern New Jersey support the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Walk. The same facilities co-sponsor the Sony/Hertz/ Volvo Run/Walk-Signature Program, which benefits several charities including the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Emanuel Cancer Foundation and the Hospice of Bergen Community Health Care.
Since 1996, Sony Electronics has participated in the MS Bike Tour for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater North Jersey Chapter.
Sony Corporation of America provides support for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. The organization is the nation's first and largest educational library serving people who cannot effectively read standard print. Sony also supports the T.J. Martell Foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds for the initial and ongoing research into the treatments and cures of leukemia, cancer and AIDS.
