Founder and partner at Vantage Counsel, LLC, Greg Kim, fuses knowledge and experience together to make a difference in the community. Greg's long-running experience with entrepreneurs as an attorney have influenced him to start his own law firm that is less about making money than being able to better the society.
"I think the great thing about entrepreneurship is you can make a living and do good for the community at the same time," Greg said. "We are lucky to be in a profession that we actually have something of value already to offer, we are not like a startup trying to figure out what our product is."
Greg said that Vantage Counsel's business model allows them to invest on businesses thus helping the community thrive through the firm establishment of entrepreneurship.
According to Greg, his sense of social entrepreneurship was brought upon by his long engagement with entrepreneurs. Greg feels that this convergence of knowledge as a lawyer and experience on the job acts as a blessing.
"That's where the best ideas come out of; convergence of different disciplines," he said. "So I think I am lucky, I am blessed to be in that situation where I see all this happening and I think with privilege comes responsibility to do something about it."
In 2004, Greg helped his son, River, put together Malama Jam which to date has raised over $57000 for charities and spawned several other student projects in the State.
