Community involvement could not come any easier especially when it is intergrated in the business principles of the company.  As part of their community service, Bennet Group Strategic Communications provide free public relations for a year to an elected non-profit organization. According to the firms president and CEO, Joan Bennet, public relations is an essential tool to convey a worthy cause and offering their services pro bono may support the mission and vision of a charitable institution.

Last year, Bennet Group awarded their services to the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse, a non-profit commited to ending domestic violence and other forms of abuse.

Besides the involvement of Bennet Group as a company in community giving, each employee also contributes to the society in their own way.  Joan herself is engaged in a number of non-profits including the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and Repair, Restore and Rebuild Hawaii's Schools.

Her involvement extends beyond the proximity of her local community.  At a relatively young age, Joan joined the Peace Corps in Ghana, which profoundly changed her outlook in life.  In the two-month emergency project, she and the team delivered food and supplies and planted agricultural crops to sustain the subsistence needs of the locals.

The Bennet Group is the seventh-largest PR firm by revenue in the state of Hawaii.
