To narrow the digital divide, founder and CEO of Hawaii Pacific Entertainment & Technology News Network, Lincoln Jacobe, created a foundation focusing on providing computers for students & teachers to support today's technology education.
The Pacific Technology Foundation raises funds to buy computers for schools and runs a technology scholarship fund which is granted to students who would like to major in science or technology programs in college, according to Jacobe
The 501(c) (3)¹s primary objective is to aid the disadvantaged, children and women who lack access to technology.
"We¹re going to be helping students that are at minority, who are faced with financial resources, and are less privileged in other areas. We¹re going to help women in technology as well," Jacobe said. "There are so many areas that we are interested in helping our community and future leaders of tomorrow through the foundation."
Another program that they created is the Children Without Computers Program where they help students and teachers buy computers for their classrooms or for personal use.
Besides Lincoln Jacobe¹s rigorous involvement with his foundation, he is also serves on the Board of Directors of The Honolulu Boys Choir, Board of Governor's of The Plaza Club and Advisory Board for ŒO¹hia Productions. The Pacific Technology Foundation which Lincoln founded and currently serves as Chairman & CEO, will hold its 6th Annual Flavors of Technology Gala fundraiser on Sunday October 22 at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
