Under the leadership of Mike Fitzgerald, Enterprise Honolulu helped create over 530 jobs in the State in 2003, and this was just the beginning.  Today, the private non-profit business development organization works on building a better and stronger economy, primarily focusing on advancing the high-tech industry in Hawaii.

According to Mike, the presence of high-tech companies in the State encourages locals and especially the youth to spotlight on academic excellence to better their chances of getting into these technology-based companies.

"Now there's an opportunity for the first time to encourage young people to really do well here because these technology, knowledge-based sectors are pretty good-paying jobs, and it's going to change the face of Hawaii if we can keep it going," he said.

More than 80 companies currently fund Enterprise Honolulu.  In turn, the organization supports Hawaii Biotech, Hoku Scientific, Bio-Cellular Engineering, Tissue Genesis, and Hawaii Superferry among many others.
Mike said the main mission of Enterprise Honolulu is to create and implement a strategy for economic prosperity, while working within the framework of sustainable development.

Mike Fitzgerald helped create more than 170,000 jobs and secure more than $11 billion in business investments for the State of Florida from 1998 to 2001.
